WAT MicroGrant Rules.

  1. All grant projects must begin within 60 days of the recipient receiving the grant.
  2. WeAreTeachers expects grant videos within 90 days of the recipient receiving the grant. Recipients can request extensions by emailing ceastman@weareteachers.com. In order to be approved recipients must give an accurate timeline of when they expect to have their grant video completed.
  3. Grant recipients must submit videos in one of the following formats .wmv, .mov, .avi, or .mpeg. Links to view grant videos on various websites will not be accepted as a suitable grant video submission.
  4. The applicant must be 18 or older to apply.
  5. The applicant must be a legal US resident to apply.
  6. The grant application is open to all educators who have an active teacher profile on WeAreTeachers.com.
  7. Applications must align to promoting issues related to the microgrant theme.
  8. All grants must be submitted using the online form by July 24th, 2009 at 5pm, Central Standard Time.
  9. Applicants may only submit one completed grant application. The first application received will be the application reviewed for posting and voting.
  10. WeAreTeachers reserves the right to not post a grant application for voting on the site. Applicants will be notified for the reason their grant is not posted for voting by the online community.
  11. All grants will be posted for voting at the same time. Applicants may promote their posted grant concept to peers for voting at www.weareteachers.com.
  12. Voting by members and visitors will be done in the WeAreTeachers community.
  13. Voting ends August 10th at 5pm, Central Standard Time.
  14. The ten applications receiving the most online votes will be acknowledged as the microgrant recipients.
  15. If the tenth place Grant applicant has received the same number of votes as other applicants (i.e. there is a tie for 10th place), additional funds will be made available to award microgrants to all proposals receiving exactly the same amount of valid votes as the tenth place winner.
  16. Voting is limited to one vote per valid email address.
  17. WeAreTeachers reserves the right to audit every vote cast to insure compliance with these rules.
  18. Winners will be announced on August 12th, 2009.
  19. WeAreTeachers reserves the right to extend the submission deadline and/or voting period.
  20. WeAreTeachers requires all winning applicants to use the Flip Video Camera as part of the grant package to record a brief summary about their proposal and include a thank you to the sponsor.
  21. You are solely responsible for your own application and the consequences of posting or publishing. You affirm, represent, and/or warrant that: you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize us to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights and to any and all your submissions to enable inclusion and use of the submissions in the manner contemplated by WeAreTeachers.
  22. By submitting your application, you are allowing WeAreTeachers and its sponsor(s) to publish on our Websites and the sponsor's website, without limitation, for promotional and redistribution reasons part or all of the submission (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. When you supply video or picture media that include children, you are stating that you have signed parental or legal guardian permission. WeAreTeachers is not responsible for obtaining parental permission.
  23. You agree that you will not submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant us the entire license rights granted herein.
