ClassroomConnections Gallery Rules

We want to see fun and interesting ways your class gets their news and information from Weekly Reader. Take a quick photo of your class enjoying Weekly Reader and enter our Weekly Reader ClassroomConnections contest to win a Flip camera and $100 estore credit from Weekly Reader! Here’s how:

  1. Take a snapshot of your class using Weekly Reader that conveys the fun, weird, or wacky ways they use Weekly Reader to stay informed.
  2. Submit your photo here by 01/15/2010, 5pm Central Standard Time.
  3. Participants must submit photos in one of the following formats: jpeg, gif, png. Links to view submission photos on various websites will not be accepted as a suitable photo submission.
  4. The applicant must be 18 or older to apply.
  5. The applicant must be a legal US resident to apply.
  6. The ClassroomConnections contest is open to all educators who have an active teacher profile on WeAreTeachers.com.
  7. Photos must align to promoting issues related to the ClassroomConnections theme.
  8. Participants may only submit one photo. The first photo received will be the photo reviewed for posting and voting.
  9. WeAreTeachers reserves the right to not post a post a photo for voting on the site. Applicants will be notified for the reason their photo is not posted for voting by the online community.
  10. All photos will be posted for voting by the WeAreTeachers community as soon as they are reviewed. Submission of photos and voting will occur simultaneously. Participants may promote their posted photos to peers for voting at www.weareteachers.com.
  11. Voting by members and visitors will be done in the WeAreTeachers community.
  12. By entering a photo submission, participants are eligible for a monthly prize drawing of one Flip video camera. Monthly drawings will be held on November 16th, December 15th, and January 16th
  13. Overall winners announced on 1/17/2010. Prize includes Flip video camera and $100 estore credit from Weekly Reader.
  14. The five photo submissions receiving the most online votes will be acknowledged as the overall winners.
  15. Voting is limited to one vote per valid email address.
  16. WeAreTeachers reserves the right to audit every vote cast to insure compliance with these rules.
  17. WeAreTeachers reserves the right to extend the submission deadline and/or voting period.
  18. You are solely responsible for your own photo and the consequences of posting or publishing. You affirm, represent, and/or warrant that: you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize us to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights and to any and all your submissions to enable inclusion and use of the submissions in the manner contemplated by WeAreTeachers.
  19. By submitting your photo, you are allowing WeAreTeachers and its sponsor(s) to publish on our Websites and the sponsor's website, without limitation, for promotional and redistribution reasons part or all of the submission (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. When you supply photos that include children, you are stating that you have signed parental or legal guardian permission. WeAreTeachers is not responsible for obtaining parental permission.
  20. You agree that you will not submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant us the entire license rights granted herein.
